From humble beginnings, Michelle Ly credits her success to patience, determination, and her family’s drive for a better life. The daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Michelle witnessed how her parents worked tirelessly to provide the very best opportunities for their three children. Today, Michelle is a mother, wife, and small business owner with a passion for serving the Round Rock community.

Much of Michelle’s inspiration stems from her daughter, Reagan (5 years), and she seeks to leave the world a better place for both her daughter and younger generations. Michelle understands that challenges are a natural byproduct of growth and that the legacy of Round Rock affects her family’s future and the future of every resident.

As co-owner of Hall Roofing and Construction, The Rock Sports Bar, Alcove Cantina, and The Flats Round Rock with her husband, Erik, Michelle has built trust and loyalty within her organizations through her daily dedication to teaching and training, and a steadfast commitment to work through challenges.

In all aspects of her life, Michelle’s unique ability to hear out issues lends to how she is also able to patiently work through viable solutions. Michelle takes the time to ask the hard questions, working tirelessly to create a successful outcome for all involved.

A product of Round Rock ISD, Michelle’s work ethic is matched only by her humility and desire to help others. While she is quiet about her service within the community, the difference she has made is palpable. For 20 years, Michelle has supported Prevent Child Abuse of America and the Girl Scouts through annual fundraisers. She has raised funds for Backpack Coalition, Texas Baptist Children’s Home, STARRY, Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center, Partners in Education (PIE), and the Texas A&M Scholarship Foundation. Michelle is also a current or former member of numerous civic and community organizations, including but not limited to the Chaparral Women’s Club, Chasco YMCA, Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, and City of Round Rock Planning and Zoning Commission. She is also a graduate of Leadership Round Rock and the three-year Ascend Emerging Leaders class.

Michelle seeks to continue to serve Round Rock in a greater capacity, and she envisions a forward-thinking community where continued success is indicative of acclaimed K-12 and higher education institutions, diverse employment opportunities, a business-friendly environment, and a city council equally determined to make an intentional, positive impact on the lives of future generations together.
